A man identified as TeiborLynting was apprehended by the Meghalaya Police for allegedly pelting stones at the residence of Law and Education Minister Dr M Ampareen Lyngdoh in Laitumkhrah. Authorities promptly arrested the suspect, who was considered inebriated and psychologically disturbed.
Security has been increased outside the minister’s house as a preventive step following the incident. It was stated that four stones were thrown at the minister’s residence, shattering the windows. Before his arrest, the accused was caught carrying a dao, a firearm the minister’s family confiscated.
The minister’s spouse, Fantin Joseph Lakadong, disclosed that they were alerted to the depth of the devastation by the sound of stones striking their home. CCTV video assisted in identifying the culprit and confirmed that he acted alone during the incident.
Lakadong noted that it is unclear how the defendant got the stones and whether or not others were involved. They still depend on the continuing police investigation to shed light on these specifics and obtain further data.
