Salman Khan, the beloved host of the popular reality show Bigg Boss, recently revealed his role in the contestant selection process. In a candid interview, Salman disclosed that he had once recommended a contestant for the show. However, he was left disheartened when the show’s producers did not consider his recommendation. This incident prompted the superstar to cease offering any recommendations altogether.
While preparing for the upcoming second season of Bigg Boss OTT, which will debut on Jio Cinema on June 17, Salman has been inundated with calls from eager individuals vying for a spot on the show. These callers range from politicians to actors, all seeking his influential backing. However, Salman firmly emphasizes that the decision lies solely in the channel, production house, and key decision-makers such as Sheetal, Manisha, Endemol, and COLORS.
Salman has consciously refrained from interfering in the selection process to maintain transparency and has accepted the channel’s rule against considering his recommendations. Reflecting on the incident that led to his decision, Salman amusingly cites the example of Nikitin, a contestant he met during Bigg Boss 6. He humorously suggests that had it been up to Nikitin, he would have been an eternal resident of the Bigg Boss house.
