India U-23 Women’s Team Clinches Women’s Emerging Asia Cup T20 Title

In a thrilling final clash against Bangladesh, the India U-23 women’s cricket team emerged victorious in the Women’s Emerging Asia Cup T20. The spin duo of Shreyanka Patil and Mannat Kashyap played pivotal roles with the ball, guiding India to a resounding 31-run win.

Opting to bat first, India set a challenging target of 128 runs, posting a total of 127 for seven. Dinesh Vrinda top-scored with 36 off 29 deliveries, while Kanika Ahuja contributed an unbeaten 30 off 23 balls. The Bangladesh bowlers picked up wickets consistently, but India managed to prevent them from establishing significant partnerships.

The Indian bowlers, led by the remarkable performance of Shreyanka Patil (4 for 13) and Mannat Kashyap (3 for 20), turned the game in their favor with a mesmerizing display of spin bowling on the slow pitch. Kanika Ahuja also made significant contributions with her off-break bowling, taking 2 for 23.

Chasing a modest target, Bangladesh struggled against the disciplined Indian bowling attack and were bundled out for just 96 in 19.2 overs. SobhanaMostary scored 16 runs, while Nahida Akter remained unbeaten on 17.

This victory holds immense significance for the Indian team, who faced limited game time due to adverse weather conditions. Despite the challenges posed by the rain disruptions, the India U-23 team showcased skill, determination, and adaptability to emerge as deserving champions of the Women’s Emerging Asia Cup T20.
